Analytics Dashboard

The analytics dashboard gives you a complete view of threats blocked and protection activity on your store.

Dashboard Overview

When you open Store Shield, you see the main dashboard with:

  • Summary cards - Quick stats for the current period
  • Trend chart - Visual of activity over time
  • Threat breakdown - Types of threats detected
  • Top threats - IPs, pages, and countries

Understanding the Metrics

Visitors Protected

Total unique visitors who browsed your store during this period. This is also used for your billing calculation.

Protection Events

Times content protection was triggered:

  • Right-click attempts blocked
  • Copy/paste attempts blocked
  • Image downloads prevented

High numbers here mean people are trying to steal your content - protection is working!

Bot Detections

Automated visitors caught:

  • Scrapers collecting your data
  • Price monitoring bots
  • Automated crawlers (excluding search engines)

Spy Tool Detections

Competitor spy tools found:

  • PPSPY users
  • Koala Inspector users
  • Other analysis tools

IP Blocks

Visitors prevented from accessing based on:

  • Blocked IP addresses
  • Blocked countries
  • VPN/Datacenter blocking

Time Periods

You can view analytics for:

The Trend Chart

The trend chart shows daily activity:

  • X-axis - Dates
  • Y-axis - Event count
  • Line/bars - Selected metric

Reading the Chart

  • Spikes - Unusual activity days (investigate!)
  • Steady line - Normal, consistent protection
  • Increasing trend - Growing traffic or growing threats
  • Zero days - Either no threats or potential issue

Switching Metrics

Click the metric selector to view:

  • All threats combined
  • Protection events only
  • Bot detections only
  • Spy detections only
  • IP blocks only

Threat Intelligence

Deeper analysis of your threats:

Top Threat IPs

The IP addresses generating the most threats:

  • IP address
  • Location (country)
  • Number of events
  • Quick-block button

Action: Block persistent bad IPs directly from here.

Top Targeted Pages

Pages receiving the most protection events:

  • Page URL
  • Event count
  • Event types

Insight: These are your most valuable pages that attackers target.

Geographic Distribution

Where threats come from:

  • Country
  • Event count
  • Percentage of total

Insight: If a country you don't serve generates lots of threats, consider blocking it.

Download Report

  1. Set your desired date range
  2. Click Export
  3. Choose format (CSV or PDF)
  4. Download your report

Common Questions

"Why did my numbers spike?"

Check for:

  • Bot attack (many events from few IPs)
  • Viral content (more visitors = more events)
  • Holiday traffic increase
  • New competitor monitoring you

"Why are my numbers low?"

Could mean:

  • Low traffic (normal for new stores)
  • No threat activity (good news!)
  • Protection not active (check settings)
  • Issue with tracking (contact support)

"What's a healthy number?"

Depends on your traffic:

  • Protection events: 1-5% of visitors is normal
  • Bot detections: 0.5-2% is typical
  • Spy tools: Occasional detections are normal

"Should I be worried about high numbers?"

Not necessarily:

  • High numbers mean protection is working
  • Focus on blocking persistent threats
  • Investigate unusual spikes

Dashboard Tips

Daily Check

Spend 2 minutes each day:

  1. Check for unusual spikes
  2. Review any high-risk items
  3. Block new threat IPs if needed

Weekly Review

Once a week:

  1. Review top IPs - block repeat offenders
  2. Check targeted pages - add extra protection?
  3. Look at geographic patterns

Monthly Analysis

End of month:

  1. Compare to previous months
  2. Identify trends
  3. Adjust protection strategy
